When we think of Valentine's Day, thoughts that spring to mind are love hearts, roses, red themed colours, champagne and chocolates but to name a few.

This is one type of wedding were you can pull out all the stops. You can go over board with the romantic gestures. No one will mind. Your wedding day will still look beautiful.

If you are on a budget. Some ways to save money on your wedding costs. Could be to try and make your own hand made wedding invites.

With February 14th wedding days. Couples can choose any number of designs for your invites. Newly-weds could choose a love heart shape invite. Try drawing a template of a love heart. You can buy inexpensive love heart shapes from local stores.

You could first start with a simple version of the love heart design. Try a single card with perhaps a red colour. On the reverse of the card you can write your wedding invite wording. If you have a large number of invitations to send you can ask your wedding party to help. Brides can delegate a number of the preparation tasks. One person can cut out the heart shapes. Another person can write the words then print them off them on their computer. Several people can then attach the invitation wording to the card. The bride can oversee every little step of the way.

Wedding invitation cards can also be in the form of a red rose wedding invitation. If one member of your party was great at drawing then ask them for their help. There are a number of ways you can have your red rose themed invites. A single rose at the top of the invite. Another idea would be an abstract red rose on one side of the invite with writing on the opposite side. If you have a terrific artist in your midst they could try and draw a bouquet of red roses.

If you do not feel confident enough to draw the flowers. Why not take your camera out into your garden. You can take a few photos of red roses. If you don't have a garden then head outside. There could be a local garden centre nearby. If you live in the city head over to your local park. Roses are in abundance during the summer months. Think ahead and take some snaps the summer before February.

Print off a few different styles of the red rose and then select one for your wedding invitation.

Brides can always send a silk red rose with date and time written on the rose with silver leaf pen as a wedding date reminder.

Go on have a go. You are a lot more cleverer than you give yourself credit for.
